About DeMers Guitar

A distinguished educator, performer, and craftsman, Anthony DeMers has spent more than two decades shaping the next generation of classical guitarists and elevating the appreciation of fine instruments along California’s Central Coast. His teaching philosophy blends technical rigor with artistry—instilling discipline, musicality, and confidence in students ranging from emerging players to accomplished performers. Guided by a belief that music is a lifelong pursuit of refinement, Anthony’s lessons emphasize precision, tone, interpretation, and the expressive potential of the guitar.

In addition to his work as an educator, Anthony is a respected luthier, designing and building classical guitars that merge traditional Spanish methods with modern sensibility. Each instrument reflects his meticulous craftsmanship and intimate understanding of the guitar’s voice—qualities honed over years of study, performance, and teaching. His workshop in Pacific Grove serves as both a creative sanctuary and a proving ground where artistry and innovation meet.

Beyond the studio and the bench, Anthony is deeply committed to cultivating community through music. His students are encouraged to participate in ensembles, recitals, and concert events that build confidence and camaraderie while advancing the regional guitar culture.

As President of the Carmel Guitar Society, Anthony helps present world-class concerts, masterclasses, and educational initiatives that bring internationally recognized artists to the Monterey Bay. His leadership reflects a singular mission: to sustain and expand a vibrant classical guitar community while inspiring others to pursue excellence in both playing and craftsmanship.

At DeMers Guitar, every lesson, performance, and instrument embodies that same pursuit of mastery—where education, artistry, and tradition converge.
